Golfing in the West

Golfing in the west of Ireland is one of the relaxing leisure activities along the Atlantic coast.

The counties along the west coast of Ireland that I am talking about here are Clare, Galway and Mayo, with Clare south and Mayo north of Galway.

Although the many parkland courses are not as popular as in some other parts on the island but the stunning landscapes of the Connemara and Burren with a wild coastal scenery and the great value and the vibrant city of Galway as the regions center point makes up for it.

This region is also very well suited for players with no or high handicap. Here they can improve their game on great courses in absolute relaxed atmosphere and totally enjoy their passion.

County Clare (home of the Burren region) has a few excellent and world famous golf courses to offer which are the links of Lahinch GC and Doonbeg GC and the parklands of Dromoland Castle and Adare Manor Golf Resort close by.
